Mandala means a circle. This Mandala plate is a tantric meditation device used as a visual aid for concentration and introversive contemplation that leads to attainment of insights and activation of supernatural forces. It represents the palace of purity, a magical sphere cleansed of spiritual obstacles and impurities. This Mandala plate is a gold plated outline of the god of death. The inner circle has been designed with silver embedding precious stones like turquoise, coral, emerald and ruby. The centerpiece is that of the deity for whom the Mandala is dedicated and can be seen that the deity is carved out of jade stone. The Mandala plate is approximately 100 years old and measures 16" tall x 10" wide x 1.5" thick. The item hails from Haa, Bhutan.
