Kannon is a Bodhisattva, meaning she has prolonged her own eternal enlightenment, remaining behind to help all who suffer in this world. She is a Buddhist deity, known as the goddess of mercy, compassion, kindness, love and pets. Legend has it that she was born from a ray of light that emerged from the right eye of the Amida Buddha. She's an extremely popular goddess in Japan and represented there in many forms. Well known in many Asia countries as Guanyin or Guan Yin, Kuan Yin and Mae Kuan Im.
