Description

Incense holder and burner cast out of copper, bronze and brass with repoussee detail on cylindrical body with a slide out interior tray that holds two sticks of incense. The container features the traditional eight lucky symbols of Buddhism (i.e. the endless knot, parasol, lotus flower, conch, pair of fish, victory banner, dharma wheel and a treasure vase) and two kneeling animal figures atop. Purchased on a recent excursion to Thimphu, Bhutan in April 2017. Dating from the mid 20th century, this burner measures 9.5" long, 4" tall and 3" diameter.
