SHAN STATE OFFERING
The Inle Lake area is in Burma. The people living there, around 70,000 of them, are called the Intha. They are mainly Buddhists and live in simple houses around the lake, of wood and woven bamboo. They are largely self-suficient farmers. However, the Inthe are not the only ethnicity in the area. The Shan, who made this wooden offering with a man's face with a tiger cap, are one of the minority ethnicities from the lake region.
