Terra cotta figure of the legendary Densu Legba. They are oftentimes portrayed with many heads. In this case only one. Densu is the husband of Mami Wata. Papa Legba has his origins with the Fon people of Dahoney (Benin), West Africa. He is said to be the guardian and trickster of crossroads and entrances and can speak any human language. He is one of the most widely served African deities. His character is carried to the new world through African slaves and is well known in Voodoo as Papa Legba in Haiti and New Orleans. Fon people, Anacho, Togo, West Africa.
