Jingdezheng Porcelain Fish Dish
Set of four underglaze cobalt blue painted white porcelain swimming fish motif dishes. The porcelain ware dishes were handcrafted in the old traditional kick wheel method and kiln firing so no two are exactly alike and each has it's own character. These factories and kilns are located in Jingdezheng (a center for pottery-making for over a thousand years), Jiangxi province, S.E. China and have been in operation making blue and white porcelains since the early Ming dynasty (14th century) using the same clays and glazes for centuries. They measure approximately 7.5" diameter by 1.5" deep. Sold as a set only.
