Temples in India use depictions of these vehicles in many forms during temple adornment processions such as Garuda, Hanaman, horses, elephants, various birds and lions to name a few. These usually mythological characters have significant religious value. This adorned standing horse vahana was acquired in Tanjore, India and dates from the mid-20th century.
