Vietnamese Buddhist Temple Duck Architectural Element
Terra cotta Buddhist pagoda temple tiered roof arcitectural element corner tile. One of four placed on the four corners of each tier. I acquired this one in Hanoi but originates from excavations in Champa area of Vietnam. This rare duck motif figure dates from the 11 - 12th centuries and has some restoration as most of these soft fired terra cotta excavated pieces do. It measures 8.5" long by 8.5" high excluding accompanying custom stand.
